5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent thriller

This is the first book I've read by Anthony Hulse; it was excellent. Set in the 40s, the main character sets out to get revenge on the murderer of his parents and twin brothers. Though he's shrewd and clever, he's bitten off a little more than he can chew. The story moves quickly and is very well written; also carefully researched; it takes us to Cairo, Paraguay, the Alps and England; and I also like the characters, who all seemed unique, interesting, and well-developed. Good novel!

Devils Deceit did not disappoint. I totally enjoyed this read and became so involved in it, I wanted the story to go on and on. Chalk up another edge-of-chair thriller for Anthony Hulse.

This book is an exceptional novel!
Anthony Hulse has obviously done his research and it shows. I couldn't put this book down.
It shows how decades after the murder of six million Jews at the hands of the evil Nazi regime, feelings amongst those who survived still ran high.
And many of them wanted revenge. The book takes you to several countries as one man seeks out his revenge on the man who was responsible for the death of his entire family.
Very well written with a sudden and unexpected twist towards the end.
Highly recommended!

"I am constantly surprised at the cleverness Of Anthony Hulse's books. I have read several of them and am impressed with each and every one. I have just finished his "Devil's Deceit". The story takes place after the end of the second world war and shows the damage that was done by rhe evil Nazis and particularly their cruelty to Jews. In the book we read that post war Nazis are being viciously murdered in The UK and the English detectives are determined to find the murderer. Running parallel with this storyline is that of a Jewish man who is dtermined to get revenge on the Nazi who killed his family. The book is well constructed and meticulously researched. You will not regret buying this excellent book."

Abyss of Sinners
#Patrick Slevin, husband of renowned violinist, Melanie, takes pity on a homeless man he encounters at Central Park. Discovering the mute enigma of a man is a skilled pianist, he courts publicity and wealth.
Sean Quinlan is a bestselling author, and when paranormal investigator and former journalist, Josh Kirby unearths similarities in his book to actual murders, he becomes embroiled in an investigation closely scrutinised by the IRA.
Who is the mysterious pianist, and is he responsible for the gruesome murder of a rival and the deaths of a church congregation? Why does he utter ancient dialogue in his sleep? A frightening and spine-chilling tale of the paranormal, this book delivers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Horror and Murder mix

There are two stories that run alongside each other in this novel. The investigation into the murder of three women and the investigation into a strange musical talent in New York are all held together by the protagonist's relationships with each other. The book is part murder mystery and part horror and sits together well. The writing is assured, the dialogue believable and the plot moves along at a fair pace, as we discover the truth in both events. It is an enjoyable and quick read, and I’ll be reading more from this author.
