Mrs. J
A story to mess with your head!

Another cracker from Anthony Hulse. Two sixteen year old English girls
disappear while on holiday in Florida. No one knew what happened to them and
the local police were convinced they’d drowned and their bodies eaten by
sharks. However, one of the girls’ father, Dr Sawyer goes over to see if he can
promote the investigation. A top journalist, who has helped in humanitarian
situations also goes over to see what she can do. The situation is further
complicated by Dr Sawyer, desperate to get information, offers a large reward,
in spite of the police asking him not to do it.
This is, in some ways, a slow burner, in that the reader wants the
investigating officers to listen to Jess, because she’s onto something which
they dismiss out of hand. However, one of them is listening, and together they
do some investigating. The plot is clever – what a twisted mind you must have,
Mr Hulse! The fate of the girls is shocking and the end is even more shocking,
but, having read some of your other books, I knew there’d be something extra at
the end.
I think this book must have been updated, because I found no significant
errors.

This heart-stopping macabre thriller from the fertile imagination of the talented Mr Hulse is a great read! It features another of his strong female characters, Jess, and a wonderfully original villain with an interesting psychological profile. As usual, the pacing is perfect and the storyline intriguing (especially that plot twist). And what an ending! This author ALWAYS tells an entertaining tale, and I buy his books safe in the knowledge I’ll enjoy them. I wonder which one I should read next? They all look so enticing.

A book that kept my attention all the way through, with memorable characters. A bit gruesome in places, but a clever plot, with a big finish in Thailand.
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
